Trent Alexander-Arnold has been told he will not be remembered as a Liverpool legend should he leave the club for Real Madrid this summer.

Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool with over 350 senior appearances under his belt and will likely end the season with a second Premier League winners' medal as the Reds sit 11 points clear at the top of the table. However, the Liverpool native has been told by Ally McCoist that he risks damaging his stature by heading to the Spanish capital.
"When I think of the two most legendary Liverpool players, the ones that come to mind are Steven Gerrard and Kenny Daglish. Both of them will go down in Liverpool folklore, even though Daglish played for a different club at first when he was at Celtic," he told . "If Trent Alexander-Arnold goes to Real Madrid, it doesn’t necessarily say to me that he won’t go down as a Liverpool great, but he definitely won’t be held in the same stature as the likes of Gerrard and Daglish as a legend, even though Gerrard didn’t even win a league title at Anfield."
The England international is out injured with an ankle injury and will miss his team's match against West Ham on Sunday.
