Carlo Ancelotti has discussed Gary Lineker's claim that England had contacted him before appointing Thomas Tuchel as head coach.

Tuchel's appointment on Wednesday came after a quick turn of events in the week prior. England legend Lineker claimed other top managers were on their shortlist, revealing: "It was confirmed that in the summer they spoke with Pep Guardiola and, as far as I know, also with Ancelotti."
Ancelotti has now dismissed these suggestions made by Lineker, but did take the time to praise former rival Tuchel.
When asked if he had been contacted over the job, Ancelotti said: "Nothing with the English federation. For me, they’ve hired a very good manager, tactically very strong. Good luck to him."
Ancelotti renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2026 earlier this year amid suggestions he too could step into the international game with Brazil.
