USWNT star Sophia Smith shared with ex-U.S. international Sam Mewis that she is still feeling the effects from their catastrophic World Cup campaign.

The USWNT's catastrophic performance in New Zealand saw swift changes come into the fold, with the first being the removal of head coach Vlatko Andonovski. Then, with the forthcoming appointment of Emma Hayes, we've seen an 'out with the old guard and in with the new' movement with the next generation of USWNT stars entering the fray.
For Smith, she's right in the middle of the two at just 23-years-old. However, despite her young age, she's now a seasoned veteran on the international stage with 40 appearances, 15 goals and seven assists.
Currently competing at the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, the USWNT will take on Colombia Sunday in the quarterfinals. Smith featured in two of their three group stage games, but has yet to find the back of the net.
